Elite Stars Cheerleading is a recreational program that focuses on teaching cheerleading, pom and flag skills to children of all genders ages 4-10! Join us for an extraordinary opportunity to experience the dynamic sport of cheerleading in a safe and inclusive environment.
Our athletes will work under the direction of caring coaches who can assist each student in succeeding to the best of their ability, building confidence, and fostering lifelong friendships within our community. We hope to bring recognition to cheerleading, dance, and flag being competitive sports.
Our goal is to encourage a good sense of self-esteem, discipline, teamwork, leadership, and physical strength. Athletes will be taught routines that will exemplify these skills and will showcase these routines at regional and national competitions.

Elite Stars Cheerleading strives to deliver a safe learning environment, while maintaining a fun, challenging and competitive feeling. Our athletes will work under the direction of caring coaches who can assist each student in succeeding to the best of their ability. We hope to bring recognition to cheerleading, dance, and flag being competitive sports.
Elite Stars Cheerleading is a recreational program that focuses on teaching cheerleading, pom and flag skills to children of all genders ages 4-10! We will split participants into two squads: Supernova, Kindergarten - 2nd grade, and Galaxy, for 3rd - 4th graders.
Elite Stars Cheerleading athletes are expected to work as a team and will attend (1) weekly 45 mins practice from September - June. During practices, they will participate in basic tumbling skills practice, dance choreography, flag tosses, and sideline cheers. All of these skills will culminate in their competition routine. This recreational program will attend 1-2 ’Dance’ Competitions under the OPEN Category at the end of each year.
There is no audition or try out, all levels of experience are welcome!

Shannon Eddy
Dancing since the age of 3, Shannon has she become a strong dancer and an award winning choreographer. After graduating from Lyons Township in 2008, where she was a proud member of the LTHS Poms squad, LTHS Cheerleading quad, and President of the LTHS Eurythmic Dance Company. She attended the London Contemporary Dance School and The University of Hawaii. Trained in Cunningham and release contemporary, she has had the pleasure of studying under some amazing teachers over the years including: Cristian Addams, Laurent Cavanna, Raymond Chai, Jorge M. Crecis, Rick Nodine, and Jeannie Steele.
Shannon has also had the opportunity to work with outstanding companies in master classes and workshops: Richard Alston Dance Company, Matthew Bourne, Candoco Dance Company, and Henri Oquike. She has also been a member of Harand Camp for the Theatre Arts for over 20 years, where she studied voice with Sulie Harand and Errol Pearlman. Shannon has had the pleasure to grow with the dance community by teaching Master Classes in the Chicagoland Area.
Benjamin Eddy
The creative force behind Lively Arts. With a deep-rooted inspiration from witnessing his wife's unwavering passion for dance over the past decade, Benjamin embarked on a self-taught journey in photography, transforming his hobby into a remarkable profession. His lens has since captured enchanting moments during performances at renowned institutions such as Harand Camp for the Theatre Arts, Stage Door Fine Arts, and Lively Arts Dance Academy.
Driven by a core principle of putting names to faces, Benjamin understands the importance of fostering connection in our increasingly digital world. His mission is to encapsulate the essence of growth, confidence, and sheer excitement radiating from each student he photographs. With an innate ability to freeze fleeting moments, Benjamin's images vividly showcase the dedication and joy that dance instills in young hearts. As a cherished member of the Lively Arts community, Benjamin aims to empower dancers by immortalizing their journey through his artistry, ultimately leaving an indelible mark on their artistic paths.

ANSWERS TO QUESTIONS YOU MAY HAVE

Our youth cheer program is designed for children aged 4 to 10 years old.

No prior cheer experience is required. Our program is open to beginners and aims to introduce children to the fundamentals of cheerleading.

Your child will learn a variety of cheer skills, including basic motions, jumps, chants, dance routines, and stunting fundamentals. The program also focuses on teamwork, fun, and building spirit.

Each session of our youth cheer program is typically 45min - 1 hour long.

Practices are held once a week, and the schedule will be provided to you upon registration. The location of the practices will also be communicated to you.

Participants should wear practice wear provided by the program and Provided Cheerleading shoes. Additionally, please ensure your child brings a water bottle to stay hydrated.

While our focus is on teamwork, fun, and skill development, there may be opportunities for performances at local events or showcases. Our program does currently participate in competitive cheerleading through the dance competition network, so each member gets the feel of performance and competition.

We may provide participants with a program t-shirt or uniform for performances. We will inform you of any specific attire requirements well in advance.

For the comfort and safety of all participants, we ask that parents do not observe practices. However, we occasionally hold open practices or parent demonstration days, where you can watch your child's progress.
